Dear Miss Addams:
I have just been reading your last 'Atlantic' essay; and been so moved by its words I wished to tell you how sympathetic and beautiful it seemed to me.
Many people doubtless have spoken to you of its [page 2] intimate quality. Its connection of the questionings of a child in a Industrial town with the mental struggle of ancient kings has the kind of imagination that must & [illegible] stir everyone wo reads it.
This is only a word of thanks and not meant for a reply.
