Biographical Text

Edith Franklin Wyatt was a poet and activist. She attended two years at Bryn Mawr College before returning to Chicago to work as a teacher. After working as a school teacher, she took a job as an instructor at Hull House. Wyatt's Hull House years were incredibly prolific in terms of her fiction writing and poetry. The writer often had her work published in books, magazines and newspapers. Wyatt also concerned herself with matters of social welfare. She believed in the advancement of women in society and the ethical treatment of animals. Wyatt died in 1958.
