Bar Harbor, Maine.

Dear Sister Clara

Will you take over the dressmaking classes & all of those in the Labor Museum building which Laura had? I will be awfully grateful if you will and I will promise to help all I can.

This miserable settlement conference at Pittsburgh will keep me away until the end of the month. I do wish I could be there when you come [page 2] back and that you will like H. H. as much as I did this summer -- I could hardly tear myself away in spite of complications.

Mary isn't nearly as well as when we landed and has a bad knee into the bargain. The little house is charming and a great pleasure to both of us.

Both our whilom traveling companions send their love to you, as does yours devotedly

J. A.
