My dear Mrs Blaine

Do you know of Mr Salter's efforts to raise money for a permanent house for his settlement in the Jewish quarter? He asked me long ago to ask you to see him but I haven't done it because of the claim of the new museum and other matters. I think that I am not betraying his confidence when I send the enclosed letter which shows how troubled he is about the matter. He is one of the best men I know with the clearest moral [page 2] insight and I have every confidence in his plans. May I leave the matter of an appointment with you?

The Municipal Museum is certainly developing and Mr Ball has done a lot of valuable work in St Louis. I returned on Saturday with an influenza but much cheered in spirit.

Always faithfully yours

Jane Addams
