HULL'S COVE
MAINE
My dear Mr Kellogg
I have written to Judge Amidon that I was not in a position to cast a vote but that I would write to you giving my sincere impression of his daughter's ability.
I am sure you understand that I do not wish to "influence" the situation. It would be very nice to see you here some time during the summer.
Hastily yours Jane Addams (over) [page 2]
P.S.
I see that I haven't given my impression after all. I know Miss Amidon fairly well and had a very distinct [impression] of her ability.
Of course I know her through her father whom I have long admired.
J. A.
