March 26th, 1908.

My dear Prof. Ely:--

I go to New York next week to attend the dinner given Mrs. [Humphry] Ward, but after my return I hope to be able to push through the Chicago Branch of the American Association for Labor Legislation.

I did not mean to be ungrateful for Miss Osgood's offer. Perhaps you will let me write you again giving the posible selections of several dates when some of you might come.

I took dinner when east at the same table with Mr. Seager in New York and am more than ever impressed with the personell of the Association.
