LIPPINCOTT'S MONTHLY MAGAZINE
EAST WASHINGTON SQUARE
PHILADELPHIA

Sept. 18, 1907.

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago.

My dear Madam:

We beg to call your attention to a department in Lippincott's Magazine, of which we take pleasure in sending you a copy of the October number, called "Ways of the Hour." This is composed of signed editorials on some subject of present interest to thinking men and women.

The maximum length of an article for this section of our Magazine is seven hundred words; and we hope that you may have sufficient time and inclination to talk about some phase of your work in this way? For this material we pay at the rate of two cents a word.

Trusting that we may hear favorably from you at an early date, we are,

Very truly yours,

J. Berg Esenwein [signed]

Editor.
