My dear Alice
Do you remember [Harriet Lewis] at the Medical College in Penna. I found her a practicing physician in this charming old town and her mother who [illegible] night and day gave us the [enclosed] little book marks. I think that I will send you mine as well as yours.
The Conference of Charities and Corrections has been well worth while, and [illegible] Mrs Kelley and various settlement folk has been a lark as well. I go to Bar Harbor for two days and then meet Mary Smith at the sea shore for a vacation. I was sorry not to see Marcet again before she left. My love to her and to you. Your loving sister JA
