DECEMBER
28 -- 1913.

Dear Miss Addams:

Thank you for your pleasant letter of December [26]th. Of course, you are quite right -- newspaper controversies are profitless. And your New York speech will serve the purpose far better than the method suggested.

With very best wishes for a merry Holiday season, and that the New Year may be the happiest and most successful of your wonderful life, in which Mrs. Beveridge asks me particularly to include her. I am, dear Miss Addams,

Always faithfully,

Miss Jane Addams,
Chicago, Ill.
