Dear Miss Addams:-
I have your second letter this morning and I am more sorry than I can say that I find it impossible for me to go to Washington for the Peace Meeting on Saturday and Sunday. I feel strongly drawn to go, but I have made engagements which I cannot break and, as I wrote you in my last letter, the fact that my aunt has just lost her son under very tragic circumstances makes it especially important that I should be at home with her.
I shall give your message to Miss Richmond and I shall be very glad if she finds it possible to attend.
With warm regards,
Yours faithfully,
Mary Willcox Glenn [signed]
