Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago.

My Dear Miss Addams:

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of The American Jewish Committee, I volunteered to take up with you the subject of the literacy test for immigrants, with a view to securing from the leaders of the National Progressive Party an authoritative expression of their views on such a test for immigrants.

Knowing your views on the subject, I venture to ask you to have some of the leaders express themselves as opposed to the literacy test.

Thanking you in advance for anything you may do in this matter, I am

Very truly yours,

Item Relations
