Biographical Text

Frank Granger Logan established the F. G. Logan & Company, a business in securities and grain. He was the founder of the brokerage house of Logan & Bryan and of the Logan Museum and trustee of Beloit College from 1893 until his death. Logan helped with the establishment of the Department of Anthropology at Beloit College in 1923. He served on the board of the Chicago Art Institute for over fifty years and founded the Society for Sanity in Art with his wife. Logan and his wife became philanthropists after Logan's retirement in 1901, often supporting the Chicago Art Institute, the Chicago Civic Opera, and Beloit College. In 1907 they initiated the Logan Medal of the Arts with the Art Institute of Chicago and the Society for Sanity in Art.

Logan was married to Josephine Hancock Logan. Logan died in 1937.
