Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Miss Addams:

May I congratulate you on your splendid effort at the [Coliseum] yesterday in seconding Mr. Roosevelt's nomination. It was thrilling to us social workers to hear you and realize what it all meant.

It seems to me the social workers throughout the country cannot well refrain from taking an active part in the campaign in favor of the third party. I wonder if you would not have some suggestions to make as to the best means by which we can make ourselves felt.

Sincerely yours,

Eugene T. Lies [signed]

General Superintendent.
