March 6, 1928.
My dear Mrs. Rabe,
I am very much ashamed of my long delay in replying to your letter owing to the fact that I was out of town. I should think it might be well to have more of the briefs if we can afford it. How much would a reasonable number cost?
I am sending you the addresses of some of the people you have asked. Mary Smith has already given ↑[received?]↓ her contribution ↑brief.↓
↑✓↓ Mrs. Geo. H. Mead, Del Prado Hotel ↑City↓
↑✓↓ Miss Dorothy North, 60 Scott St., ↑[City]↓
↑✓↓ Miss Ethel L. Dewey, Hull-House ↑[City]↓
↑✓↓ Mrs. Esther L. Kohn, Hull-House ↑[City]↓
↑✓↓ Mrs. Geo L. Marsh, 5712 Dorchester Ave., ↑[City]↓
↑✓↓ Mrs. Katherine D. Blake, 101 W. 85th St., N.Y.C.
↑✓↓ Mrs. Edw. W. McCready, 231 N. Euclid Ave., Oak Park
↑✓↓ Mrs. James G. Baker, University of Chicago
Mr. Rall, Mr. [Brummitt] and Mr. [Hermann] all gave money at the committee meeting but I do not have their addresses. I will write to Mr. Baker and ask if he can send them to you.
I should also like to have one sent to Mrs. Ignace Reis, 4746 Ellis Ave., Chicago. She was away during the time we were collecting but I think some other time could be counted on for help.
May I congratulate you on the brief. It seems to me a very convincing document. I have given my copy to Mr. Frederick Libby of the National Council for the Prevention of War. Perhaps you will kindly send me another.
Faithfully yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
