Dear Miss Addams:
I appreciated very much receiving your check for $10.00 for our work. I always want your backing in our undertaking.
Last evening quite a group, including Senator Couzens and others, was discussing at Mrs. Harriman's Emil Ludwig's choice of the four greatest living Americans. Many of us were very happy and expressed ourselves to that effect that Miss Addams received her just place among the four. You have had so many knocks lately on account of your connection with the peace movement that it is very gratifying to your friends to have this recognition come just now.
I am looking forward to a visit in Chicago March 4-6. The Open Forum Speaking Bureau will be looking after me. Will you ask Jeannette Stetson to let me know if there will be a room at Hull House? I shall arrive the morning of the 4th and leave the evening of the 6th for California.
Cordially yours,
Executive Secretary.
