My dear Dr Maddox;

I am sorry to bother you so much about this miserable library which may not amount to much after all, but as books may begin to arrive, it is only fair to warn you.

A box or two may come from the University of Chicago, they are duplicates from the School of Social Service Administration of books which I had given to the School of Civics and Philanthropy which was its predecessor. Miss Balch has at last gotten her books out of Tim Murphy's barn and will send them along in a series of boxes.
