Dear Miss Addams,

I enclose some clippings you may like to see. I have been giving some fifty addresses in Maine, Connecticut and Pennsylvania since my return from Europe. I shall go on to the Conference on Cause and Cure of War in January and in February shall go on a college tour in Virginia with Sherwood Eddy and others.

March 18 I shall start on a western tour which will include Chicago and continue into May.

I had such a time in Maine with [page 2] the patrioteers, who insist that I was a German agent in wartime and I figured so in front page headlines that I got out the enclosed circular to show that some people thought me respectable. I am not allowed now in Boston public schools so I have to do more work at a distance.

I congratulate you on your Coolidge interview.

Mr. Mead is very well, busy and happy and writing on historical matters and against Hibben's slanderous books on Beecher.
