Your letter of October 17th with printed copy of the proposed settlement agreement in the Estate of Amanda F. Lauterbach has just been received. I have cabled Mme. Cor. Ramondt-Hirschmann 14 Daniel de Langestr, Amsterdam, Holland as follows:

ADVISE SIGNING AGREEMENT BALCH ADDAMS

As you may recall Miss Balch and I had a cable permission from the Executive Board of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom to put the legacy into a trust in America for the Association. It might be possible that the Judge of the Surrogate Court would prefer some such arrangement. It might be well to have this in mind in case such an arrangement would meet possible objection.
