Miss Jane Addams
Hull House
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Miss [Addams], --

This is just a line to tell you that I was so disappointed in finding it absolutely necessary to return to Denver on the first train at the conclusion of our conference at the Stevens Hotel, which compelled me to forego a plan I have long had in mind to come over to Hull House to have a good visit with you. There are so many things I wish to discuss with you when there are no such distractions as conferences and conventions.

It is just possible that I may be through Chicago again some time this summer. On several occasions when I have had the time to go over to Hull House, it has been my misfortune to find that you were either abroad or away from Chicago. Do you expect to be at home at all during the summer?

If the Supreme Court should refuse to take jurisdiction of our case, I have an idea that the Klan Mayor here would appoint someone else in the Court, in which event I will have a chance to do a bit of visiting on my own account, and thus there is a chance that I may be east again.

My wife joins me in very kindest regards and good wishes,

Sincerely,

Item Relations
