My dear friend,

I am extremely sorry to have been so long in answering your interesting letter which I have greatly enjoyed reading. I am returning herewith the various documents enclosed, all of which I have read with much interest.

I agree with everything you say in your letter to Catherine Marshall. It is more important to have two good Chinese women come to America than for two American women to go to China at the present stage, and yet I firmly believe that if the right two persons were selected to go to China next autumn it would have a good deal of value. A good deal depends, of course, on what happens before the visit and if a settled condition does arrive I should strongly urge sending a small delegation out. My visit was so successful in the opportunities I got for constructive work with groups that I want more persons to have the same experience.

I am, with sincere regards

Your friend,

(Signed) Rufus M. Jones
