My dear Miss Addams:
It seems I must ask you to write a letter after all, that is, if you feel like doing so.
It would help us greatly at our Northern California organization meeting in San Francisco next week, April 7, to have a message from you.
Can you write us a letter wishing us the successful formation of our Northern California Branch, and hoping for the development of many new local groups of the Women's International League in California, the gateway to Mexico and China, for the study of international affairs, the promotion of international understanding, and the to urge the settlement of international disputes without war? Of course you know best what you wish to write, I merely mention the above points as helpful ones at the present time, and I hope I may [use] your message for the papers. Faithfully yours,
Anne Martin
