BUENA VISTA HOTEL
BILOXI, MISS.

My dear Dr Taylor --

I am very grateful for the account of the laying of the corner stone and especially for the copy of your speech.

I wish very much that I might have been there. It must be a source of gratification to you to have this tangible expression of what you have for so long a time accomplished for the young ministry, and the [page 2] recognition of it helps many efforts towards socializing religious instruction and effort. I want to add my warm congratulations to the hundreds you have already had.

May I also thank you for your much too kind article in The Survey about the dinner which you did so much to promote!

I am sorry to have missed the Settlement Conference and [page 3] the spirited discussions of "Civics." Dr Herrick was rather insistent upon an entire month away [although] I am so much better for the rest in this delightful climate that I am sure I might return with impunity.

With affectionate greetings to Lea, I am always faithfully yours Jane Addams
