Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Illinois.

Dear Miss Addams:

I found your note of February 7 on my return from Chicago. I mailed the check for $25.00, because I was not sure whether the flowers could be gotten for just the sum I specified. I thought there might be some expense involved in getting them.

I am enclosing in this a copy of the Official Record with a brief statement in regard to Miss Hunt. We are hoping that something can be done by the Home Economics Association in the way of providing a fitting memorial. I think we shall all realize later even more than we do know what her contribution to home economics was. My chief regret is that she was not left free to make the type of contribution she could have done so well. I have tried, during the time I have been here, to make this as nearly possible as one can in government service, but it has always seemed to me too bad that she should have been wasted in adding up calories when the philosophy of homemaking needed her so much.

I do wish to express to you again our appreciation for all you did.

Very truly yours,

Louise Stanley
Chief.

Enclosure.
