I am very grateful for Mr. Cooper's letter for there is no doubt that from time to time settlement people need to be checked in the midst of their multiform activities and challenged as to their ultimate aims.

It is what Canon Barnett always insisted upon doing and now we need to do it for ourselves. I hope that at our next National Conference we will be able to devote at least one long session to a serious discussion of Mr. Cooper's point of view.
