Dear Miss Jane Addams

Referring to my letter to you, which reached you in Chicago, & to your kind reply & enclosure of particulars for getting to Dublin Peace Conference -- I cannot come. We -- husband & self -- are living on £3 a week -- it doesn't leave anything over. I have managed to get play typed -- & I am now off to take it to Mrs Despard & she will bring it [page 2] to you. I am hoping to get a few words with her before she leaves -- to tell her of the inception of the play. Its first birth in my imagination was finished from beginning to end. The end is as I saw it.

I feel some such imaginative appeal is wanted.

Yours sincerely

Edith Mary Moore

My name is not on the play.
