der Haag, Oct. 24th, 1925.

My dear Miss Addams,

The Manuscript of my Memoirs has been in the hands of the publishers, Century Co., and Thomas Seltzer, both New York. They both write me, that they find it very interesting, that it ought to be published in the U.S.A, but from a financial point of view, they do not believe it would be a success. Therefore Century Co sent the manuscript back to me, Thomas Seltzer asked what to do with it. I asked the latter to send it to you, while you [once] told me that I should send it to you, so that you could try your publishers.

Now, dear friend, I hope it will not be a too great botheration to try the publication with your publisher, otherwise you must ↑not↓ do it and keep it or destroy it, just as you like.

I sincerely hope your health is now excellent and you will be able to come next year to Europe to preside over the Intern. Conference for peace & Freedom.

Here, in Holland, the peace-movement is in good hands now. 23 different societies have federated to do all kind of peace-work this winter. On November 11, there will be in all large cities and towns of the country memorial-meetings of the armistice and a plea for disarmament of our country. We believe it will be a success. The movement for complete disarmament is constantly growing here and now different sects of the church combine with us for that purpose. The result of the "Locarno meeting" helps us now.

Hoping that all the good friends in Hull-House are well and asking you to give them all my kind greetings.

with love and admiration
yours

Aletta H. Jacobs.
