My dear Jane Addams!

Dr. Augspurg and I are staying in Geneva to help Madeleine Doty. Ten days ago, we learned that you had a bad accident and bruised your ankle. We are very sorry that you have again to suffer so seriously and hope that pains are over when this will reach you and that you are able to do your beloved work in Hull House. Much work is to be done here, but all are in good spirit; we like very much to stay in Maison International. Madeleine Doty has enormously improved in the work of our league, since we saw her in America and she will soon know all details about our European sections and [what] is more important for our league -- European politics.

M. Doty thinks that it would be splendid to have Miss Surles here, to help her with Pax International especially with the printer, but I can not say if she would be the [right] [page 2] person, for it is rather hard here if somebody doesn't understand french.

I have the impression that M. Doty is very good for our league and only hope that she will stay longer than one year.

Dear Vilma Glücklich has been very unhappy all these years in Geneva, she nearly never felt at home here. I am happy for her she has left, though the situation in her own country is not satisfying.

Doty is leaving the 5th of Dec. for Paris, London and Dublin. We will stay some days longer to bring out the german edition of No. 2 of Pax Int. and then return to Munich.

In January, ↑the↓ Executive Committee will meet in Paris, if possible I will try to go. If only Cath. Marshall could come, but I fear her health has not yet recovered. We all are looking forward to have you again in Europe during our congress in Dublin.

Monday I have to speak in Zürich and I will meet Mrs Ragaz. We did not see Dr Woker, but her state of mind is still bad. The best is to silence it out, in time she will be [all right], her mother had the same attack at her age.

With all good for your health and kindest regards from Anita Augspurg and myself I am
Affectionately yours,
Lida Gustava Heymann.

[written on left margin] Please give our best love to Miss Mary R. Smith and her friend.
