My dear Miss [Addams],

You may like to know we are agitating the subject of a Connecticut Branch of the W.I.L.

I enclose a clipping from a local newspaper telling of a recent meeting and that we plan others. I shall also write to friends in other Connecticut homes, and do what I can to rouse interest.

Mrs. John [Crawford] tells me [page 2] of receiving a letter from you and literature. She is the most able woman in there. We have placed pamphlets and other material in our local library and have had notices read at club meetings.

I shall be in California this winter, I expect but the mails are open there as well as here!

We do appreciate your kindness in speaking to us. Your name alone is something to conjure work and your presence an inspiration.

[page 3] We are pretty well supplied with material through your secretary and shall show how and where to apply for more when needed -- without us asking you personally. It is to all our interest to help preserve & conserve your precious health and strength- but you will hear from us!

Yours sincerely,
Annette Vail Schlaet
