Miss Jane Addams
Hull House
Chicago, Illinois.

My dear Miss Addams:

Miss Balch has returned to me today the proof of the W.I.L. history and suggests that before it goes to print I send it on to you to read over.

I suggested to Miss Balch that she add something about the action of France with regard to the Riff War, England's attitude on Egypt, etc. It seemed to me that the history was not quite complete without a little more of our International effort recorded. Apparently she did not have time to write this up and as I did not feel that I know enough about it I am wondering if you would be willing to add something on these subjects if you feel as I do about it?

In writing to Miss Balch I told her that I regretted the use of the words "private property" because I felt it would again cause trouble and as I understood it the resolution regarding it as first worded in French and German and that the literal translation of those resolutions was "property privileges or monopoly" rather than "private property." I gave this as an explanation of a bit in her letter which may confuse you.

Affectionately yours,

Dorothy Detzer
Executive Secretary.
