My dear Miss Addams:

When you feel like business again will you consider the enclosed, which came to the Secretary with a covering letter from Miss Holmes and was referred to the Committee on rewording of the statement of our International Object. The Committee consists of you and Mrs. Lewis and me.

As I recall it we thought in September if we here could formulate a new version and circulate it [through] all the Sections that we suppose to object to the present statement and try to get them to agree on it before the Congress meets in Dublin. I do not know whether it ought not to be submitted to all so that there should be now "playing of favorites" or "forming a cave" and no ill feeling. Then if we saw a substantial majority approved the new form beforehand it might save a confused situation in Dublin.

Have you a wording to suggest?

Always yours as you know,
