WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM.

Central Office: 12 Rue du Vieux Collège, Genève.
Cable address: Willif.

To Sections, Executive and Consultative Members.

Geneva, April 6th, 1925.

Dear Friends,

Executive Meeting

At the request of Miss Addams and Miss Balch, I have submitted to the members of the Executive Committee the proposal that our Annual Executive Meeting should be held in the first half of July, when Miss Balch will probably be able to attend it. I suggested that it should begin on the 6th July; but, as two of the Executive Members who have replied to my circular letter would be unable to be present at that date, I now suggest

Monday, July 13th

as the opening date.

As to the place, I proposed alternatively either Geneva, or -- for reasons of economy -- Austria near the Swiss Border. This last proposal obtained the majority of the votes received. Bludenz, the first station in Austria after passing the Swiss frontier, Schruns near Bludenz, and Landeck have been suggested as small and less expensive, while Innsbruck has been proposed as giving some opportunity for propaganda.

Suggestions from Sections as to the place of meeting can be considered only if they reach the Central Office before April 30th.

For the Agenda, in addition to the reports of the officers of the Board, a discussion of the following questions has been suggested:

1. Questions of principle as to the Object of our League;

2. Place and date of our next Congress;

3. Appointment of an Acting Secretary for Geneva;

4. Appointment of a new Financial Secretary;

5. Chemical Warfare. (If possible, a special meeting of the Committee against Scientific Warfare should be held at the same time.)

6. Economic Causes of War.

Please send further suggestions as soon as possible.

Let me remind you that each Section is entitled to be represented by two Consultative Members.

Committee against Scientific Warfare.

The President of the Committee, Dr. Naima Sahlbom, is planning to be in Geneva in the beginning of May for the Conference of the League of Nations on the Regulation of Traffic in Munitions. She would be very glad if it could be arranged to hold a meeting of the Committee here at that time. In any case she hopes that other members of the Committee may be able to come to Geneva during the conference so as to help her in trying to get into touch with experts who will attend it. Will Sections kindly let me know at once whether their representatives would be able to join Dr. Sahlbom here.

I should be very much obliged to you for a prompt reply,

Sincerely yours,

Vilma Glücklich [signed]
International Secretary.
