"They're not tramps." she hurled back. "You must not call them that." But there was hubbub in the hall and she could not be heard half the length of the room. She turned and appealed to A. B. Colton, who occupied a seat on the platform. But the audience came to the rescue first. A low buzzing sound was heard which increased in volume until it became a pronounced hiss and Dr. Dibble's further remarks were effectually drowned out and he took his seat while Miss Addams was allowed to proceed.
