My dear Mrs. Odell; --

I do not know the names either of Pottecher or Rihouet but it will certainly be an advantage to have English-speaking people come. I quite agree with you that it would be better to confine the Washington meeting to women speakers. Unless we compete with really distinguished men, I think we make a better impression that way.

I do not believe it will be of any use for me to appeal to Mrs. Park in regard to women speakers. They have tried very hard to keep their program down and are frightfully timid about our group. I should do everything possible to have a brilliant mass meeting in Washington and interest them in [page 2] that way as I think many of them will still be in the neighborhood.

I shall be glad to talk to Mrs. Park about it after I get there but am sure a letter would achieve nothing.

Faithfully yours,
