My dear Mrs. Mussey:-
I have unfortunately just signed a contract to give a book to Macmillan by October first, so I am afraid I have left very little time for new plans for the summer. Perhaps another year I may be more fortunate. I will certainly post your invitation and tell the residents about it.
I think you and Mr. Mussey are to be congratulated upon the Columbia appointment, the opportunity of working with Mr. Giddings, Mr. Seager, and the rest.
I am so glad to hear that you are stronger and able to direct Greek plays again. Perhaps the dim future holds another one for us!
With cordial greetings to Mr. Mussey, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
Mrs. Henry Raymond Mussey.
