My dear Miss Addams,

I suppose you have received Miss Balch's communication sent out under date of Oct. 8th, in which she estimates the expenses for the coming Congress and expenses of the International through May 1st, 1923, at $20,000 and our share $10,000. The Congress itself, I notice, will cost $4,000 and I suppose our share of that, which is half, will have to be raised during this winter and early spring. Do you want this matter laid before the Board at the meeting next week? I know that most of the money for the International raised in this Country was gotten by you personally, and I don't know how you feel about this sum. Our difficulty just now would be that we should raise money for the National to carry us over until the next annual meeting.

Faithfully yours,

Marion B. Cothren [signed]
