My dear Miss Addams:
Mr. Rosenwald asks me to write you, in reply to your letters of May 22nd and May 24th, that he will be glad to contribute in cash any balance required over the amount you receive from the estate of Miss French to provide the portable houses equipped with material mentioned in your letter of May 22nd as to be purchased from the Great Lakes Naval Station for $520.
If you care to buy the portable hospital buildings of Sears, Roebuck and Co., please place your order direct at prices quoted already to you by the Company; and we shall see that it is put on open account and held until you receive the money from the estate to make the payment.
At such time, should the cost, including the equipment bought of the Great Lakes, as above, exceed the amount of the French bequest, kindly submit us a statement showing this and Mr. Rosenwald's check will be sent you for the excess cost.
Mr. Rosenwald feels it would be better not to set a precedent for reducing prices below Sears catalog figures.
With kind personal regards, I am
