HOTEL ST. FRANCIS
SAN FRANCISCO
Dearest
The [enclosed] letter thanks me once more for your good works.
I wish you could see the flowers which fill this room or better still the flowers at Sacramento. The Chamber of Commerce took a picture of them! -- the Greek "piece" was wonderful. [page 2]
I am standing it quite well and enjoying the country, -- Marysville was in the old gold region -- but I am homesick for you & much disappointed not to find a letter here. Every thing will be safest in care of Mrs Burdette -- I hope Eleanor has arrived & likes this part of the Earth. [page 3]
I am weighed down with two bags & take only one to Salt Lake -- I must hear from you before I start. Bless you, dear, love to both your households & to E S.
Always yrs Jane A --
