My dear Madam;

I read last evening your article in the "Ladies' Home Journal," and write to ask if there is anything one could do in the way of personal work [page 2] at your settlement, by coming out there, and entering into it, or if you have all the help you need? I have not much money, and could not help in that way, but might be very glad indeed to do something if there was anything in the line of settlement work [page 3] that I could do.

I hope you can find time to reply, and that you will let me hear from you as soon as possible.
