November 6, 1918
Dear J.A.
I am so glad you are to be here in November -- just as pleased as pleased can be. Your room and fire-place and your apples will be waiting for you. Emily Balch calls up to say that the Group of Thirty-Five will meet here, and that pleases me too. I will see that you have a quiet place, and luncheon served for you all.
Let me know just when you are coming, and it will be too heavenly nice for anything if Mary comes along. Tell her that with much love.
I will punch Mrs. Pinchot to get that money, and any other head that seems to have a pocket-book.
Faithfully yours
