Biographical Text

Harriet Hammond McCormick was a philanthropist as well as women's suffrage activist in Chicago. After the childhood death of her youngest child, the couple primarily donated their time and money to help children with their schooling and education. She was involved in many organizations, such as the YWCA, Woman's City Club of Chicago, the Fortnightly, and the Friday Club.

McCormick married Cyrus Hall McCormick Jr. in 1889. They had three children. McCormick died in 1921.
