My Dear Miss Addams:

I was very glad to get your letter proposing a board meeting and heartily agree with you in the advisability of holding it at the present time. Chicago would suit me much better than New York as a meeting place, but I have no preference as to the date. It would be justifiable I am sure, to pay the travelling expenses of one or two of our members. It seems to me a debatable point whether much would be gained by holding an annual meeting this fall, since it might provoke harmful publicity.

If the name of our organization is changed, I would suggest a closer correlation to the International Committee of Women for Permanent Peace of which we are a branch; as, for instance, "Woman's Council for Permanent Peace". The word Peace is objectionable only if it suggests the idea of peace at the present time.

If we are to have a board meeting soon, could we not wait until after that meeting to send out our statement of principles.

It will be a great help as well as pleasure to me to meet with you again.

Very Cordially Yours,

Florence G. Taussig. [signed]
