My dear Mr. Kellogg:

Your telegram asking if Miss Addams cared to write a fifteen hundred word appreciation of Dr. Frissell of Hampton, to reach the Survey by Monday, was received during Miss Addams' absence from the city and could not be sent to reach her in time for her to comply with the request in case she wished to do so.

I am very sorry for this. The message will be brought to her attention on her return in a few days.

Very Sincerely yours,

Eleanor Daggett Karsten [signed]
Secretary to Jane Addams
