My dear Miss Addams

Your letter was forwarded to me here.

I can see nothing in your address to make a fuss about. The trouble is with Pacifists like Socialists there are a great variety of ideas, some of them you can agree with and many you cannot.

When we believe the world is growing better, all at once it jumps back 2000 years, and many of us believe the only to meet force is with force.

We are having cold wet weather here, and little fishing.
