My dear Miss Shelly:

Miss Addams has asked me to answer your telegram of October 10th in which you say that the Neutral Conference Committee is preparing a symposium for which you would like to have a statement from Miss Addams on the subject "Should America wait for an invitation to mediate?" Miss Addams says that she feels that she has talked to the President several times about this and has said to him all that she can on the subject.
