June 29th, 1916.

My dear Miss Addams:

Miss Shelly, Mrs. Lloyd and Miss Holbrook are insisting that I go to New York to represent the Woman's Peace Party at the luncheon of the Committee of One Hundred which Miss Shelly and Miss Secor are organizing, to be held next Thursday, June the 6th. Miss Holbrook even undertakes to underwrite my expenses for the trip.

Please write me frankly what you think of this. I should be able to stay in New York only about 48 hours as I am due in Madison on the 10th for my four lectures there.

Hastily yours,

Miss Jane Addams,
Bar Harbor, Maine.
