Dear Miss [Addams]:
I intended to enclose a letter relating to the Phyllis [Wheatley] Home of Chicago. Since writing you I have learned from Miss Nerney of the National Association of Colored People that it is a small but worthy organization. If this coincides with your opinion you need not trouble to write again. I am sorry to have made the error but I know you will understand how such things will sometimes happen.
Truly yours
