Riverside, California, July 18, 1923.

Dear [Miss] Addams and [Miss] Smith -- [Miss] Lathrop has sent me your address and I hasten to inform you that you must stop a long time in Riverside on your return. Riverside's climate is mild and good natured and very fine for asthma and such things. Why isn't it the place for two ladies to spend the coming winter and get quite well again, especially in view of my nearly vacant house and the neighborhood of Stanley Linn? Think about it and let me know.

It has been fine news that [Miss] Addams is making so good a recovery. We are all grateful to Japan for her hospitality and kind treatment of you.

When do you start home? Tell me all that you know of your plans.

Sincerely Yours,

Charles C. Arnold
