My dear Miss Coolidge
There is a prospect after all that we may go to London. Mary Smith is so much better that she is [paid?] to visit a cousin who lives near Bristol. We therefore plan to leave Geneva Switzerland on Sept 12", to reach London Sept 14" and to stay until our boat sails from Plymouth on the 21st of Sept.
I have written all this to Mrs Barnett and that I [no wise] care for the influential people, so to speak, but would like to see the settlement people and the new organization.
I will also write to the Warden of Toynbee and hope that we can pull off a meeting. [page 2] Of course nothing will matter unless you can come. It would be quite fatal if the week in Sept between the 14" & 21" should be impossible for you.
I am awfully sorry to have been so uncertain in my plans but they must depend for the present upon Mary Smith's health. Hastily yours
