My Dear Miss Addams:-
I have your kind letter of May 18th. May I not urge that you come and stop at the University at least from Tuesday morning until you leave? Our experience is when our guests stay with friends in the city the most extraordinary series of accidents are sure to occur which nearly always mar or spoil our exercises. This ↑has↓ happened so often that we feel sensitive on the point and I want to ask earnestly that you give us at least Tuesday. Of course the hospitality we offer will be simple but in no other way can you really see Atlanta University, and I shall be very much disappointed if we cannot have you.
