May I thank you for your kind note and the picture which I have wanted for so long a time. I don't suppose you habitually read the Ladies Home Journal, but I have just gone over the article I had in the Sept. number, for republication, and I thought of you many times with the [page 2] sincerest gratitude for your standing by, in a most difficult crisis. After all an actual experience in the only thing which is very illuminating, isn't it true
